A long women's Twist turban sewn from 100% Ankara cotton from an African textile manufacturer. Black, white and golden accents meet in bold geometric patterns, forming a patchwork composition.

The cotton has a slightly stiffer hand, is pleasant to the touch and holds sculptural drapes well. This natural, breathable fabric also works on warmer days.

Thanks to the Twist construction with two removable copper wires, you can shape the turban in under a minute — as full head coverage, a wide headband, a bow or a playful wrap.

A story from my studio

Pieces of fabric from an African manufacturer found their way to my studio. Different patterns, different sizes — just right for joining into a patchwork whole.

I stitched them together partly by intuition, partly against the grain. Not everything can be planned from start to finish. And it's in these meetings of patterns that the most interesting things are born.

Care

Before washing, remove the two copper wires and turn the turban inside out.

Machine wash on the "hand wash" program with the lowest spin. Dry naturally. Once dry, iron the fabric, put the wires back in, turn the turban right side out and press the edges.
