About me

I've been working with textile handicraft since I was a child — I was waving a needle around at the age of six, maybe even earlier. Sewing, embroidery and knitting were my favourite games. For as long as I can remember, I knew I would become a fashion designer, even though the road to that dream wasn't always easy.

I received my first commissions from companies at the age of 18, designing skate jackets for the Legwan brand. The collection with a handprint on the back became my first commercial success and stayed recognisable for many seasons. And yet the collaborations of the 1990s never gave me full satisfaction — neither creative nor financial. Even then I could see the lack of ethics in mass production, both socially and ecologically.

The work that truly brought me solace involved using second-hand materials. Although at first it was a necessity born of a small budget, it soon turned out that creating from reclaimed textile resources gave me enormous satisfaction. That's when most of the ideas I still hold today were born — including the concept of "controlled chance" (kontrolowany przypadek), which you can read about on my blog.

Over the years I collaborated with companies and fashion designers, designing and creating knitted pieces for them. My work reached the world's most important Fashion Weeks. A particularly special experience was co-designing and making the knitwear pieces for Gosia Baczyńska's collection — an adventure that taught me the most about the work of a fashion designer, and about what I wanted to carry from it into my own life and craft (more about that on the blog too).

Today I create one-of-a-kind clothes and accessories using upcycling techniques. I believe every thing has its own story, and that fashion can be both ethical and exceptional. As I create, I try to give new life to forgotten materials, combining art, precision and responsibility.

Thank you for visiting my space. I hope you'll find here something that delights you completely.
